Visitor Information Centre Manager (Maternity Cover)

Tourism in Winchester is worth £358 million to the local economy, would you like to work within this dynamic and exciting industry? If so, the award winning team at the Visitor Information Centre in Winchester might have just the job for you.

You will be responsible for the operational management of the centre and a team of 7 staff, ensuring that our visitors and residents receive an outstanding level of customer service. You will work with tourism businesses across the Winchester District and other members of the tourism team to support the re-build of the visitor economy as the industry adapts to changes bought about as a result of COVID-19 and in line with the Council’s Recover, Rebuild and Reimagine Plan.

You will be responsible for the financial management of the centre and strive to improve the financial performance by income generating initiatives and services.

In addition to this the manager will be responsible for adhering to all government guidelines in relation to COVID-19 and operating a ‘new normal’ that reassures and provides confidence to all customers.

Reliable and enthusiastic with a positive and flexible attitude you'll have an excellent knowledge of Winchester and the surrounding area. We’re looking for someone with the ability to work well with and lead a team. You will have a good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, a good telephone manner, plenty of initiative and an excellent approach to customer care.
