Apprentice Communications Officer – 18 month fixed term contract (progression to permanent contract possible)

Are you a good communicator with great organisational skills?

Winchester City Council is looking for an Apprentice Communications Assistant to support its Communications team in promoting the Council’s work.

You will write for newsletters and the intranet, place the Council’s public notices and answer film location enquiries. You will take photographs of people and events and oversee the in-house photo library.

Supporting the Head of Communications organising their diary and answering the phone confidently. You will also support the communications officers with media and website work, you’ll also help the graphic designers to manage incoming and outgoing artwork and get involved in the print room at busy times.

Underpinning all of this is a Business Administration Apprenticeship at level 3.

What do we need from you? Maths and English GCSE would be nice, but what we’re really after is a genuine commitment to great communication with different audiences. We’re also looking for flexibility, attention to detail, calmness under pressure and good judgement.
