Fixed Term Contract for 2 years.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager within our corporate Major Projects Team.  Our Major Projects Team manages the Council key major projects, which include a diverse portfolio from large regeneration and development schemes across the city to implementing major new software throughout the organisation.

Your role will play a key part in helping the Council achieve its priorities through managing major projects in the Council’s capital programme and assisting senior managers through excellent advice and support on project governance and best practice.

With excellent communication skills and organisational skills you will enjoy working under pressure and to tight deadlines. You’ll have experience of running medium to large sized projects; experience in managing development projects and the planning system in particular will help you be successful in this role. (Experience in procurement will be an advantage). You’ll also have first rate interpersonal skills and be able to quickly establish good working relationships with a wide range of both internal and external people. Ideally educated to degree level, or equivalent, you’ll also have the ability to work accurately and on your own initiative. A PRINCE 2 qualification is essential.
