Sustainability Officer (Maternity Cover)

We are seeking an innovative and dynamic Sustainability Officer to maintain progress during a period of maternity leave towards the ambitious aims of our carbon neutrality programme – a priority in our Council Plan 2020-2025.

You will be instrumental in ensuring that policies are developed and projects delivered that will underpin a reduction in carbon emissions across the council and the wider district.

Amongst your skills, you will be an excellent communicator and enjoy building positive relationships with colleagues, partners and the public. Crucially, you will have the knowledge and personality to promote the importance of carbon neutrality and translate good relationships into meaningful outcomes.

An understanding of the policy drivers associated with climate change is essential, as is knowledge of the latest technologies and their practical application. Experience of working in a public sector or local government context would be helpful, but not essential.
